SKMF Round-Table in Zürich

All SKMF Members and anyone interested in an exchange with practitioners on Knowledge Management are invited to join this informal meeting. For logisitcs purposes we appreciate if you could let us know that you will attend by eMail.

The SKMF Round-Table consists of two parts.

Part 1 will focus on the subject: Improving Requirements Engineering in Dynamic Environments

Problem: Product development requires the input and collaboration of a wide range of people. Product success is dependent on how well the interests of users, customers, marketing, sales, product management, production, service, support, research, and development teams can be aligned.

While their input is necessary to creating great products, their different backgrounds and responsibilities often result in conflicting or rapidly changing requirement specifications, as well as communication and coordination problems. Traditional requirements engineering processes are no longer adequate to the challenges faced by knowledge-driven organisations, or the demands of today's customers.

Questions: How might requirements engineering be improved? What are the minimal documentation requirements and optimal communications media? How do we ensure that the interests of one side of the value and production chain (users, customers, etc.) are properly addressed by those on the other side (developers, suppliers, etc.)? What models or collaborative processes can be employed here?

Part 2 will be an Open Space discussion on current issues that matter to those participating.

The round table is co-organized by the SKMF and will be lead by Samuel Fricker from the University of Zurich and Fuchs-Informatik AG.

This round table is a semi-structured discussion designed to informally gather people who share an interest in Knowledge Management, IT, and life in organizations.

Our working language will be in English. However, native languages can be used in the group discussions.

The event is free, but for logistical reasons we will be thankful if you could let us know whether you will be able to attend by sending an email to RT_Zurich@skmf.net before April 10. If you can't confirm ahead of time, no problem; just join us anyway.
