Event Background

In June 2011 SKMF held its Spring event titled Putting Knowledge Management into Practice – CREATING YOUR KM TOOLBOX.

Two invited speakers proposed KM frameworks derived from practice. Participants worked in roundtables to refine some of the proposed methods. In this way the KM toolbox started to take shape.

Event Goal

The November 2011 SKMF event aims at providing participants with hands-on experience in knowledge management initiatives.

Event Structure

Many books and articles have been written about knowledge sharing; without experiencing the implementation of a knowledge sharing initiative, it is difficult to foresee its positive and negative effects.
The SKMF has been running very successful roundtables where participants gain experience by simulating knowledge management initiatives.
In this event, you will have the opportunity to experience knowledge sharing initiatives with the help of recognized knowledge management experts Frank Leistner and Chris Pallaris.
The event includes a  presentation by Philippe Furrer from the International Olympic Committee about the role that KM plays at the IOC, where it facilitates the sharing of knowledge and experience when organizing the Olympic games. This presentation is a joint event with the SMP (Société suisse de Management de Projet) and ASMS (Association Suisse des Managers du Sport).

Event result

Participants will gain practical insights in the implementation of knowledge sharing initiatives.

Target Audience

Departmental leaders, knowledge managers and practitioners, project and innovation managers. Consultants and decision makers from services, industry and public sectors. Students and researchers will benefit as well. Participants will gather ideas of usable and practical examples of the different methods, tools and instruments supporting implementation of KM.
