Event Goal
The goal of the SKMF Spring Event is to:
- Identify sustainable implementation steps and tools to introduce knowledge management (KM) into today’s organization.
- Implementing practical knowledgemanagement varies according tothe needs of an organization.
Can we devise a standard method and tools to introduce KM into organizations?
At this event we would like to compare procedures that have proven to be effective.
Practitioners and knowledge managers will share their experience in implementing successful KM processes during the knowledge cafe.
These will then be the basis for further discussions in groups. The final outcome would be to create a “KM Toolbox” to implement knowledge management.
Course of event
The Spring event will be a mixture of inputs from experienced knowledge managers and workshops.
After initial key notes, we will use the Knowledge Cafe format to interactively discuss three angles of the main topic:
- Comparing KM introductory approaches
- Adapting KM to specific organizations
- Overcoming barriers to KM during implementation
A case study will demonstrate a particular approach and start the workshops. New insights, thoughts and experiences on the topic will be shared among the participants in subsequent parallel sessions. A
synthesis and final discussion will conclude the day.
There will also be sufficient time for networking and personal discussions.
Target Audience
Departmental leaders, knowledge managers and practitioners, project and innovation managers. Consultants and decision makers from services, industry and public sectors. Students and researchers will benefit as well. Participants will gather ideas of usable and practical examples of the different methods, tools and instruments supporting implementation of KM.
