Quality information is essential for successful Knowledge Management (KM). Organizations invest significantly in managing their information but much less in optimizing the information itself – despite its intrinsic value for improving results.
Welcome to Lean Information! With roots in lean manufacturing and information science, information is “lean” when it is free of waste for its audience. Wasteful information costs time and money, and poses risk.
Join this session to learn how optimizing information from a waste vs. lean perspective offers advantages such as useful metrics, engaged managers, and motivated employees.
Through two customer case studies, you will see how Lean was used to improve information and data. See how this approach can support new employee competencies that build information quality cultures and improve AI data readiness.
After this session you will be able to:
-
Understand lean information principles
-
Recognize how they could be used in your KM work
-
Apply a key process step to help build your information quality culture
