In short: The KM Storytelling Canvas is a new tool for showing executives the value of KM projects. It does this by visualizing the relationship between a business problem and a lack of knowledge. The advantage is that it provides a solid factual basis for a story that will convince executives.
Join this SKMF Roundtable and use the KM Storytelling Canvas to solve a real-world business case:
Case description
Research and development of a medical product critical to saving lives failed technically and financially. We look at the causes from a KM perspective and how failure could have been avoided. You will then be able to apply what you have learned to your own KM work.
The KM Storytelling Canvas is a new tool to clarify the direct connection of how knowledge management can impact important organizational targets like productivity, financial performance or efficient collaboration.
This is achieved by visualizing the relationship between the business problem and the lack of knowledge, and vice versa. This interrelationship is constructed on the basis of known real events within the organization.
Its benefits are first a sound fact base for a story that convinces executives to seriously consider knowledge management as a strategic and operational function and second a way to strengthen the position of knowledge managers.
Join this roundtable as we participate in the discussion between the Senior Account Manager and the Head of Knowledge Management.
- How did these problems originate from a knowledge deficit perspective?
- How does the KM Storytelling Canvas help solve this dangerous situation?
