SAQ Central Switzerland with SKMF: Quality Management and Knowledge Management in Practice—Two Sides of the Same Coin?

SAQ SKMF Partner Event (in German)
SKMF is organizing this event in collaboration with the Swiss Association for Quality (SAQ) Central Switzerland.
Both disciplines share a common goal: the sustainable performance of organizations. But how can we not only document knowledge but also effectively integrate it into processes, decisions, and daily workflows?
What changes are necessary to ensure that knowledge is available where it’s needed? And how can we inspire leaders to embrace the benefits of knowledge management?
Knowledge management is often viewed through rose-colored glasses. People imagine that a magic fairy in the form of a tool will do the work for them. At this event, we’ll explore both best practices and gaps in knowledge management through three concrete case studies.
We’ll examine the perspective of large companies as well as the unique challenges and opportunities faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), where knowledge is often closely tied to individual employees. We’ll come to understand knowledge management as an essential prerequisite for effective quality management.
Look forward to concrete practical examples and real-world experiences from everyday business life. In discussion sessions, we’ll delve deeper into the case studies and apply them to our own organizations. You’ll return with a fresh perspective on your processes.
Because one thing is becoming increasingly clear: Excellent processes alone aren’t enough—it’s the right knowledge that makes them effective.

19.09.2025 | Partner Event with SAQ Zentralschweiz: The Power of Knowledge Management

SKMF is partnering with the Swiss Association of Quality (SAQ) Zentralschweiz to co-host the event "The Power of Knowledge Management":
Many organisations face the challenge of providing employees with the knowledge they need in a timely manner. Here, a distinction must be made between tacit and explicit knowledge. Knowledge management not only encompasses strategies and practices for capturing, storing, sharing and utilising knowledge, but also aims to create the necessary framework conditions.
We will discuss the following questions in the lecture:
- What is knowledge? What is the difference between tacit and explicit knowledge?
- What is knowledge management and in what forms can we practise it?
- What added value can we all achieve if we share our knowledge within our organisation?
- What can each of us contribute?
- Which success factors are decisive?
- Which IT solutions does Siemens use to support company-wide knowledge management?
